To fix this problem download and backup upload.php from /admin/includes/classes/
then on line 30 or 31 you see the below
// self destruct
$this = null;
just pop to // on the start of the second line like this
// self destruct
// $this = null;
save upload and overwrite, now go back to the admin which will now be working.
